Keep Your Sanity With This Donor Tracking Worksheet + Video Tutorial

ANYWHO. I know we have alllllllll kinds of systems for tracking progress with donors. Over my 25 years as a frontline fundraiser, I've used a bajillion of them. :)

No matter how awesome the CRM or project management platform is, I always come back to this tool. It's my secret weapon.

I've shared this with soooooo many colleagues over the years. They tweak it to fit their needs.

One of the MOST AWESOME aspects of this tool is this: You can keep track of quirky stuff, like:

• Who needs to be invited to an event (and they aren't in your portfolio, maybe),
• Who needs to have an article written about them (where the heck would you track that?),
• Who is ready for an award.....
• Etc. You get the gist.

Another awesome use case: other people's to-do items:

You can easily keep an eye on tasks that need to be accomplished by someone else. Rather than keeping that in your head, you note it here. When you review your immediate next steps, you remind the person who needs to do the thing, and keep on trucking.

Here's another one: celebrations.

Let's say you're the kind of person who sends birthday or anniversary cards. I don't have a column for that (because I don't send cards to anyone), but you could adapt this to keep track of milestones to acknowledge. Most of us don't have a system in our CRM that pushes notifications of bdays/anniversaries/etc to us.
